Diabetes Self- Management Education (DSME) classes
A complete diabetes education series covering a wide range of topics to help you understand your diabetes and how to manage it. Classes include: types of diabetes, high and low blood glucose (sugar) and how to treat it, monitoring blood glucose, medications, complications of diabetes and how to avoid them, personal goal setting, coping with diabetes, basic nutrition, carbohydrate counting, portion sizes and meal plans. DSME includes both group and individual meetings with a Registered Pharmacist for instruction on the important role of diabetes medications.
DSME classes are offered 3 different days every month
Series 1 - The last two Tuesdays from 1 to 4 pm
Series 2 - The First three Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Series 3 - The second and third Fridays - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Nutrition for Diabetes
(1 class, 2 hours)
Managing diabetes requires paying close attention to what one eats. This class focuses on healthy nutrition for a person with diabetes. Class includes: effects of food on blood glucose (sugar), carbohydrate (carb) counting, and portion sizes. Every month on first Thursday 11:30AM– 1:30PM
