Meet With A Pharmacist Minimize

Confused about your diabetes medications?
 Would you like to meet individually with a pharmacist?

If you have diabetes and have questions about your medication, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association is able to provide you with a private consultation with a Registered Pharmacist.

These individual consultations will be held at the Central Ohio Diabetes Association (1100 Dennison Avenue) and are free of charge.

Central Ohio Diabetes Association Class and Services Description

Diabetes Self- Management Education (DSME) classes

A complete diabetes education series covering a wide range of topics to help you understand your diabetes and how to manage it. Classes include: types of diabetes, high and low blood glucose (sugar) and how to treat it, monitoring blood glucose, medications, complications of diabetes and how to avoid them, personal goal setting, coping with diabetes, basic nutrition, carbohydrate counting, portion sizes and meal plans. DSME includes both group and individual meetings with a Registered Phramacistfor instruction on the important role of diabetes medications. 

DSME classes are offered 3 different days every month 
Series 1 - The last two Tuesdays from 1 to 4 pm
Series 2 - The First three Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Series 3 - The second and third Fridays - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Nutrition for Diabetes

(1 class, 2 hours)

Managing diabetes requires paying close attention to what one eats. This class focuses on healthy nutrition for a person with diabetes. Class includes: effects of food on blood glucose (sugar), carbohydrate (carb) counting, and portion sizes. Every month on first Thursday 11:30AM– 1:30PM

Inch By Inch is a Central Ohio Diabetes Association prevention program designed to support realistic weight management

Through Inch by Inch you will:


Receive a quick, private weight assessment and discuss a realistic weight goal for yourself.


Participate in an upbeat class series that provides practical information, support and education regarding healthy nutrition, weight management strategies and physical activity.  


Classes are held at the Central Ohio Diabetes Association  (1100 Dennison Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43201)


Class size limited to 25 people - Must be 18 years or older to participate
