"Partners in Progress" Minimize

The work of the Central Ohio Diabetes Association is based on a partnership with the Central Ohio community. The Central Ohio Diabetes Association offers quality programs that are available to all individuals in need, regardless of their ability to pay. In return, because the Central Ohio Diabetes Association is a local organization serving local people, the Central Ohio community generously provides 100 percent of our funding. In fact, our single largest source of income is contributions and fundraising activties.

Whether you are interested in participating by volunteering at a fundraising event or want to inform individuals in the Central Ohio community by creating awareness about the disease, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association has something to offer you.

Why not check out what is available and get involved with the Central Ohio Diabetes Association and make a difference today?

The Central Ohio Diabetes Association founded in 1964, helps Central Ohioans with diabetes to detect their condition, prevent onset and complications, and learn to live well with the challenge of diabetes.

Take Part in Diabetes Alert Day On March 27 Minimize

American Diabetes Association Alert Day® is a one-day "wake-up call” asking the American public to take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out if they are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Held on the fourth Tuesday of every March, the next Alert Day will be held on March 27, 2012.

For every Diabetes Risk Test taken, Boar’s Head® - manufacturer of premium delicatessen products - will donate $5 to the American Diabetes Association starting March 27 through April 27, 2012, up to $50,000.

The Diabetes Risk Test asks users to answer simple questions about weight, age, family history and other potential risk factors for prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. Preventative tips are provided for everyone who takes the test, including encouraging those at high risk to talk with their health care provider.

Although Alert Day is a one-day event, the Diabetes Risk Test is available year-round.

The Central Ohio Diabetes Association also provides free screenings at their office and at various events throughout the year. Education classes are also available to those who have diabetes or at risk for the disease.  For information call 614-884-4400
